Entries and news round-up

Firstly, an apology to all for not being in touch lately, but there has been very little news.

However, BACCALAUREATE has an entry at Newton Abbot next Tuesday evening, 29th August. He is in the first race of the evening – at 4.35 p.m. – the Actuate Marketing Handicap Hurdle over 2 miles 5 furlongs. There are 21 entries and his weight is 10st. 10lbs.

And now for a round-up of news about the Club’s other horses:

  • ARCHIE RICE is very well but I am reluctant to run him too often as he is 11 years old and has a good few miles on the clock. He needs 3 miles plus these days and takes a fair bit out of himself. However as I’ve just said, he is very well and when a suitable race comes along he will definitely be entered.
  • GILLY GRACE was scoped after her race at Worcester and had a course of antibiotics afterwards. She has, therefore, had an enforced break for a couple of weeks but is back in full work.
  • GOLAN DANCER has definitely told us he wants soft ground and has, therefore, also had a few easy weeks ready for an autumn/winter campaign.
  • MONET MOOR is another one who requires the ground to be on the softish side. We have kept her in this summer as I’m sure you will all remember that she did herself so well out at grass last year that it took months to get her back ready to run. I hope to find her a suitable race shortly.

Regards to you all and I’ll be in touch again next Monday about Baccalaureate.
